Tuesday Night, Still Recovering from the Weekend

HAPPY HOUR
Stop into Spencer & Daniels Wine Outlet for the hugest wine sale, EVER. 50-70% off wines, which means Beringer and Yellowtail for $3.99, Clos du Bois for $5.99, and 2buckchuck for $1. Looks like Happy Hour’s on you, kid.

ARTSY
Last night to see Tattooed Portraits: Snapshots at the Shooting Gallery. Shawn Barber is a tattoo artist by day and a painter of tattooed folks by night. This exhibit has an almost manic feel, with the paint dripping off the canvases. (free)

WATCH
It’s been (almost) 20 years since the Berlin Wall fell. Tonight the Goethe Institute screens DIE MAUER (the wall) at 6:30 pm. The film is an enduring record of the deconstruction of the border between East and West Germany. (suggested $7 donation)

Our/your soon to be new favorite film, Where the Wild Things Are, doesn’t open until October 16. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t get excited! Prep for the film by checking out the Contemporary Jewish Museum’s new exhibit, There’s a Mystery There: Sendak on Sendak. You’ll find original watercolors, preliminary sketches, drawings, and dummy books from more than 40 of Sendak’s books.
